Spreading Hope in Nepal—Arhaus + The Small World
On April 25th, 2015 a magnitude-7.8 earthquake struck Nepal. Multi-story buildings collapsed, and landslides and avalanches spread across the Himalaya Mountains. Over the course of a month, 9,000 lives were lost and 22,000 suffered injuries. More than 600,000 homes were destroyed and nearly 300,000 were damaged. Hundreds of thousands of people lost everything, and while major humanitarian organizations responded very quickly to the disaster, there is still so much work to be done to help Nepal recover from the natural disaster.
Every effort that’s given to help rebuild Nepal does not go unnoticed, and we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU. Together, we raised over $100,000 for the construction of the new Small World orphanage in Nepal. This orphanage will be the new home for 100 boys and girls who have been displaced from their homes due to the catastrophic earthquake that took place in 2015.
While there is still a long ways to go, construction has already begun and we’d love to take you with us along on this journey. Here’s a short video of the project site, make sure to check back in for updates!
