Tree Decorating Inspiration

It’s that time of the year where creativity flows. There’s no right or wrong way to spruce up your home for the holidays, and when it comes to decorating your tree, you can do whatever you want! Think outside of the box…or maybe even inside of it. Pun intended. 😉

Here are a few ideas to spark some creative juices when decorating your tree this year.

This year I put our tree in a vintage shipping crate from a local flea market! Now that’s literally thinking inside the box. You can do this with any basket or bin, as long as the base of your tree fits!

Once the tree was up, I draped a Moroccan Pom Pom Blanket over the box to soften the look and add texture.

I love incorporating vintage and vintage-inspired accents in my home, so it only makes sense to do the same with my holiday decor! I used these gorgeous mercury glass ornaments from Arhaus on the tree—I love the texture and distressed technique used on them—it gives off the appearance of vintage glass ornaments!

Pro Tip: Don’t feel like you have to fill your tree in order to make it beautiful! I kept the tree relatively simple since these ornaments make a statement on their own.

Since I don’t have gifts under the tree yet, I wrapped some faux gifts to fill in the space under the tree and added the Arhaus mini ornaments as little charms on the gift boxes!

Once you have gifts, you can swap the faux ones out—your choice!

Again, there are no rules in sprucing up your home for the holidays, but I hope the ideas shared from my home can help inspire you in yours! Happy decorating!
