Fall Home Trend—Brass is Back + a Sneak Peek
From light fixtures to cabinet details, décor accessories and more, brass and metals are the stars of the season. We sat down with our upholstery team to talk about our newest, brassiest living collections and give you some inspiration for how to bring these trendy elements into your home.
We’re giving you a sneak peek of our new Corso, Leigh, Jaxson and Zaine collections! They feature chic, contemporary designs inspired by sophisticated, modern styles. Floating seats are cradled in elegant brass- or chrome-plated stainless steel frames that create clean lines and sleek shapes. Gorgeous silhouettes are accentuated by the juxtaposition of metal against rich, vibrant fabrics.
“Brass and metal have been very trendy in home décor and this is our way of bringing it into the upholstery category,” said upholstery product developer, Ellen SantaMaria. “It’s not overwhelming—it’s not, ‘Look at that shiny brass sofa over there!’ It’s beautiful accents that can really bring a whole room together.”
The shape of these collections is focused on a minimalist look that maintains a casual sophistication. These smaller designs also provide great contrast to oversized pieces.
“People want comfortable sofas and chairs, but they really want them to look cool too…People want pieces that are beautiful accents in their room,” said head upholstery developer, TJ Schmitz.
These collections can be mixed with both contemporary and traditional looks to create a wide array of fun and fashionable styles, depending on your preferred aesthetic.
“Just like the brass or chrome frames make a statement, we wanted to pair colors and fabrics with those frames that made statements as well,” said Schmitz. “We wanted designer colorings to mix with the frames…The saturated, deep navy of Corso’s vintage [Brussels Atlantic] velvet catches the light and glistens, showing different, almost luminescent shades.”
“These colors can also be mixed with neutrals that you already have in your home,” added SantaMaria.
Pieces from all of these stunning collections will be showing up on store floors by November 1st. Stop by any of our locations to see them in person!
