The Arhaus Live Edge program makes it possible to enjoy nature’s beauty in your home every day. We partner with fourth-generation Amish woodworkers to create handcrafted, rustic slab furniture from trees that have fallen naturally or those cut down for development—trees that otherwise would have been chopped for firewood or chipped for mulch. We are proud to give them new life as stunning, one-of-a-kind conversation pieces for your home.
The journey of your live edge masterpiece
Our partners at an Amish sawmill begin by cutting slabs from downed trees that otherwise would have been chipped for mulch.
Each slab is reviewed and goes through a thorough a selection process.
The artisans leave the slabs in the sun for two years to dry out, followed by five months in the kiln to ensure strength and durability.
Selecting your piece
To create the perfect piece for your home, just tell us where you would like to use the piece, what size you’re looking for, and what wood species you prefer. We have 8 species of wood to choose from—Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Sycamore, Ambrosia Maple, Elm, Walnut and Ash. Our artisan partners will use this information to select unique slab options for you, providing detailed photos to help you decide what slab is the right fit.
After selecting your perfect top, the slab is finished with a subtle sheen for added protection. Distinct, hand-forged bases are then attached to complement the wood, creating a piece with the perfect combination of natural and industrial qualities.
Six to eight weeks later, the finished table will be ready for your home, creating a one-of-a-kind conversation piece made to endure.
